Theme and Appearance

The first thing you'll notice about Imperial Riches is its beauty. Set in a serene Japanese garden, you'll see hanging lanterns and ponds in the background. The reels are filled with A, K and Q card suits as the low paying symbols, while the higher paying icons are represented by gold cymbals, bamboo plants, golden fish and gold ingots. The golden fish is the most rewarding, with 5 in combination awarding 100x your stake. The Wild symbol takes the form of the gong and can appear anywhere on reels 2, 3 and 4. The Wild substitutes for all symbols, bar the scatter, to help form a winning combination.

Betting and Prizes

There are 15 paylines in Imperial Riches, meaning that there are 15 coins to use at all times. You'll need to bet on every line to activate it. Depending on your preference, you can change the value of the coin between 1p and £2, giving you a total betting range of 15p to £30.

In terms of the payouts available, there are wins of up to 1000x your stake up for grabs in each round. If you're playing with the maximum stake, this means you could win up to £30,000 in this game. The slot seems to have fairly low volatility, so the wins are regular but less impressive. However, the progressive jackpots available mean that you could still win big with Imperial Riches. The RTP is set to 96.88%, which is pretty standard for a modern slot game.

Jackpot wise, there are two small value fixed jackpots, along with three high-paying progressives. The progressive jackpots are split into Midi, Major and Mega and the payout is tied into the casino where you're playing.

Slot Features

Like most slots, Imperial Riches comes with various bonus features including Avalanche Reels, Free Falls and 5 Jackpots. Below, we explore these in more detail.

Avalanche feature

One of the best things about Imperial Riches is the Avalanche feature. When you get a winning combination, the winning symbols disappear from the reels. This creates a space for new icons to drop in. The allows you to form new winning combinations with every drop, meaning you can win again and again from a single spin. The Avalanche feature is present in many of Net Ent's slots, so you may already be familiar with it.

Free Falls feature

The Free Falls feature is triggered by landing 3 or more lantern Scatters anywhere on the reels. When you do, you'll be awarded 10 Free Falls. Essentially, this is just a Free Spins round. If you trigger the feature with 4 or 5 Scatters, you'll receive 5 additional Free Falls for each symbol. This means you could start the round with as many as 20 Free Falls.

Every win during this round will trigger the Avalanche feature, meaning that multiple wins are possible per spin. When you form a win during the Free Falls, every winning symbol is collected as a jewel. The collected jewels are then used to activate the Jackpot Game.

Jackpot Game

The jewels from the Free Falls round drop into the pond and are eaten by the Coin Fish or the Bonus Fish. If a Coin Fish eats the stone, you'll win either 0.33, 0.66 or 1x your stake. If a Bonus Fish eats 3 of the jewels, you'll trigger the Jackpot Game.

Once you're in, you can win various cash prizes and 1 of 5 different jackpots. There are 2 lower-paying fixed jackpots and 3 progressives. Each Jackpot Fish has an indicator which shows how many jewels he has eaten. If the same fish eats three jewels, you'll win the jackpot.

The Rapid Jackpot is worth £100 and the Mini is worth £500. The Midi, Major and Mega Jackpots are progressive, so their value is tied into the casino you're playing with. This means that the jackpot values will differ between online casinos.

Verdict

Overall, Imperial Riches is another top-quality slot by NetEnt. The gameplay is simple but fun, with the Free Falls and Avalanche feature generating additional wins. If you're lucky enough to fill the reels with the high paying golden fish icon, you'll win a generous 1500 times your stake per spin. If you're looking for a simple slot game with decent winning potential, Imperial Riches is certainly worth checking out.
